Welcome to
Pumpkin Patch!
Our
"pumpkin patch" is located just minutes from downtown Luray and the
beautiful Luray Caverns as well as Skyline Drive.
Bring the whole family and spend
some unforgettable quality time in the heart of the Shenandoah
Valley. Stroll through our pumpkin maze while you enjoy the
magnificent scenery that only our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains can
offer in the fall season.
As you enjoy the fall colors, let
us help you choose from a variety of colorful pumpkins,
gourds, mums and other decorating items such as corn shocks,
decorative corn, and straw bales.
NEW for 2008: Corn Maze and Spider Web Maze
Our Corn Maze will not
be one to get lost in, but rather a maze where you will search and
find things. The maze is designed with children in mind as an
educational experience. The maze contains six farm animals which
children will need to identify to solve the puzzle of the maze. Each
farm board will contain fun facts about farm animals.
This year the farm
will feature a hay tunnel, picnic area, duck race, sand box, bean
bag toss, and brain teasers which are sure to stump even the
brightest of people. Admission to Maze Area and Playland will be
$5.00 per person. You can stay as long as you like.
There is no
admission charge to visit and shop at the Pumpkin Patch.
The Pumpkin Patch offers a large
selection of pumpkins in many shapes, sizes and colors. We grow all
of them ourselves. They range from as small as two pounds to as
large as 100 pounds! Round, flat, white, green, tan, as well as the
traditional orange pumpkins are available. Our pumpkins are great
for cooking, carving, painting and of course decorating.
Accessorize your pumpkin display
with a straw bale, corn shocks, fall mums, and a full array of
decorative gourds of all shapes and sizes. Swan, apple, angel wing,
egg, birdhouse, and caveman clubs are among the most requested
varieties.
If you like gourd crafts, come out
on one of our "craft weekends" (See our news page for dates and
times.) You will learn to make decorations that can last for years.
While choosing your decorations,
don't forget to pick up some fresh Virginia Apples from nearby
orchards. Taste the different varieties and choose the o nes you like
best. Also, fresh honey and homemade apple butter made right here in
our Valley are also available.
And finally, don't forget to enjoy
the "life-sized" scarecrows located in and around the pumpkin patch.
We make these "guys" yearly.
OH.. and on occasion, don't be
alarmed if one happens to talk back to you, or offer to walk with
you in the pumpkin patch!
