Luray Caverns just a few minues from Valley Star FarmOur farm is an easy drive from the D.C. Metro area. You can enjoy some time at the farm as well as visit many local attractions such as Luray Caverns and the Shenandoah National Park.

Here is some information to help you plan your trip to the Valley, a visit to our farm, and links to some local sites of interest.

Looking for a Place to Stay? Why not try the Cornfield Inn? It is a great place to stay when visiting Valley Star Farm for Christmas or Fall fun and it is r next door to the farm,and only minutes away from all of the other great activities Luray and Page County have to offer.   • Shenandoah National Park: Thornton Gap Entrance. Enjoy hiking, stunning vistas, ranger-guided tours, and more in Virginia's "Mountain Playground." 
  • George Washington and Jefferson National Forests: 1.8 million acre  offer scenic drives, hiking & biking, swimming, boating horseback riding and other activities 
  • Luray Caverns: Virginia's largest lighted caverns and most popular caverns in the East. See the antique transportation collection at the Car and Carriage Caravan.
  • Lake Arrowhead: freshwater lake and recreation area operated by the town of Luray. Fishing, swimming, sand beach, picnicking and nature trail
  • Downtown Luray: Theater, restaurants, antiques and craft shops.
  • Historical buildings & tours: the Mauck Meeting House, the White House Bridge, Calendine, Massanutten School and Hamburg Country Store.
  • Shenandoah River, canoe, tube, fish and swim in this scenic river.
  • George Washington National Forest: Lots of trails to hike and wonderful scenery
  • Meems Bottom Bridge: the longest covered bridge of nine in Virginia and the only one left in the Shenandoah North of Route 11 on the way to Mt. Jackson. Shenandoah Caverns if right near the bridge.
  • Golfing: is available in several locations nearby.
  • Wineries: Wisteria Farm & Vineyard is about a 10 minute drive from Luray. There are quite a few others wineries you can visit within a 45 minute drive called the Blue Ridge Wineway
